In 1920 Jung went to visit North Africa. By seeing how other people viewed one’s national peculiarities one could better understand them. Jung had a dream about an Algerian who tried to kill him by drowning. Later in the same dream Jung had another encounter with this Algerian where Jung forced him to read a book written by Jung. Jung believed his encounter with Arab culture was an influence on himself.
