Jung’s soul is a child, a girl child. Now he tells her his story. Starting with 2 dreams he had that motivated him to study natural science and medicine. Now there is hesitation to follow his soul into the unknown. What does the soul want? Jung has doubts. Yet he knows he should not doubt.  Then he tells of a dream. His doubts tell him that he is writing to be printed; that Nietzsche did what he is trying better; he is ‘aping’ Saint Augustine.  {In 1934 /35 JUng taught a seminar on Nietzsche’s Zarathustra}Jung wonders what to do with his doubt; asks for his soul to decide. He needs more depth, more solitude, to waken the dead. Jung says he is not yet ready.
