In 1916 Jung began to translate his work in the Black Books and Liber Novus into contemporary Psychological terms. To quote Shamdasani - “...between 1911 - 1914, …establishing a structural account of general human functioning and of psychophaology.  concepts of phylogenetically acquired consciousness peopled by mythic images…. Non-sexual psychic energy…. Introversion and extroversion… compensatory and prospective function of dreams….synthetic and constructive approach to fantasies…”  Next was the elaboration of the individuation process.1916 - Lecture - “The Structure of the Unconscious”1916- talks on the subject of adaptation and individuation.1916 - paper “The Transcendent Function”1917- book - The Psychology of the Unconscious Process:An overview of the Modern Theory and Method of Analytical PsychologyAs Shamdasani says: “The attempt to gain the wisdom stored in the unconscious is portrayed throughout the Black Books. … The unconscious is here viewed as a source of higher wisdom.”
