In January 1925 Jung visited the Pueblo Indians in Taos, New Mexico. He was influenced in two ways by this trip. One related to how ‘whites’ think with their head as opposed to how Indians think with their heart. He had a discussion with a person named Mountain Lake. In this Jung learned much about the role of the sun in Pueblo religion and cosmology. This is reflected in the Septem Sermones, his encounter with Ammonius and Izdubar.
