We need light. The path and beyond is dark. That beyond is deep within ourselves. Jung sees two men on the road. A tall man who is the red rider and his companion, the anchorite. When they see Jung they both are frightened and make the sign of the cross. Jung looks at himself, he is covered in green leaves. A conversation now occurs where the two men talk of Jung’s influence on them and their life since they last met Jung. They are not happy about the influence.Jung asks why they are traveling together; tells them to be friends and they say they cannot. Jung tells them to let him pass.
