Jung wonders where he can go and how he can help Izdubar. The West is too far away The East; what of the dangers? He asks Idzubar who can help.Izd. reminds him of the Sun that he will meet in the East. Jung realizes that Izd. is a fantasy. Izd. agrees. So Jung is able to carry him, as a fantasy he has no weight. Jung will take him to the land of the West. They see the Red Man and the anchorite who run off when they see Jung and Izd. Jung does not want to go to a nearby town because there could be a crowd there and the Enlightened live there. He knows of a house nearby with friends who will take them in for the night. Izd. is too large to enter the home, so Jung squeezes him to the size of an egg and puts him in his pocket. THen he walks to the house where Izd. is to find healing.
